1199 SEIU ENDORSES SENATOR MARTIN J. GOLDEN
Brooklyn, NY – Today, 1199 SEIU, a 200,000 member organization representing healthcare workers throughout New York City, endorsed the re-election campaign of New York State Senator Martin J. Golden.
Kevin Finnegan, Political Director for 1199 SEIU, said following the announcement of the endorsement that “the working men and women of our state have a friend in State Senator Marty Golden. He has written and passed many important pieces of legislation that have improved and protected the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. The members of New York’s largest healthcare workers union, 1199 SEIU, appreciate his efforts. We intend to work hard to see the Senator re-elected, so he can continue his outstanding work in Albany.”

In his first race for State Senate in 2002, Local 1199 members played a key role in supporting the get out the vote efforts of Golden’s campaign. This year 1199 SEIU will once again be an active part of the Senator’s campaign by making phone calls, going door to door, and reaching out to their fellow members.
