AFGE Local 2272 AFL-CIO Affiliated Recognizes Golden, Malliotakis
As Supporters of Law Enforcement
Brooklyn, NY – The American Federation of Government Employees Local 2272 today announced their endorsement of State Senator Martin J. Golden and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis. AFGE Local 2272, an AFL-CIO Affiliated Union, with over 1000 members, represents the U.S. Marshals.
“State Senator Marty Golden and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis have consistently supported members of law enforcement both through their voting records in Albany and actions in their communities. AFGE Local 2271, the US Marshals union is pleased to recognize their efforts with our endorsement,” stated Local 2272 President Jason Wilder.
Senator Golden stated, “As a former New York City Police Officer it is an honor to receive AFGE Local 2272’s endorsement. I have spent my entire career in public service making sure that our children can feel safe walking on our streets, our families secure in their homes, and ensuring that our neighborhoods are a great place to live, to work, and to raise a family.”
Assemblywoman Malliotakis stated, “Elected officials must equip law enforcement with the tools they need to protect public safety. I am honored to receive the AFGE Local 2272′s support in recognition of my commitment to keeping our community safe, including legislation passed to expand the DNA database and penalize those that view child pornography or commit aggravated acts of domestic violence. I will continue to work with Senator Golden to establish tougher penalties on repeat drunk drivers and criminals who attempt to lure children. I look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to stamp out dangerous criminals in our city.”
