SENATOR GOLDEN ENDORSED BY MOTION PICTURE STUDIO MECHANICS LOCAL 52

Senator Golden cited as a leader in recharging New York’s Economy

Brooklyn, NY – The Friends of Marty Golden today announced that Local 52 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), AFL-CIO, has endorsed him for re-election.
The endorsement highlighted Senator Golden’s longstanding commitment and support of the industry film tax credit. Senator Golden is recognized for creating the tax credit, and since its adoption has sponsored legislation to both renew and enhance it. According to the Governor’s Office, this tax credit has created over 522,000 jobs since 2004, and has generated more than $7.5 Billion in economic impact for the city and state of New York.

“The men and women we represent appreciate Senator Golden’s efforts to recharge our economy by creating opportunities and jobs in the motion picture industry and throughout New York,” stated John Ford, President of Local 52. “We look forward to his re-election and continued leadership in the upcoming legislative session.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Local 52 and all of their members. I will continue to fight for this key tax credit, as it serves as an important boost to our local economy,” said Senator Golden.
